These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Maw Maw’s mobile application and related websites (the “App”), owned and operated by McPherson Enterprises, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What Maw Maw’s Is

Maw Maw’s is a family recipe-sharing app. The App lets you create, save, edit, and share recipes, connect with other users (“Folks”), and optionally post updates and comments in a shared feed (“Table”).

2. Eligibility

The App is intended for adults only. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).

3. Accounts and Security

To use most features, you’ll need an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

4. Your Content

The App may allow you to submit content including recipes, recipe photos (if enabled), profile photos, posts, comments, and messages (collectively, “User Content”).

4.1 You own your content

As between you and McPherson Enterprises, LLC, you retain ownership of your User Content.

4.2 License you give us to operate the App

You grant McPherson Enterprises, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content only as necessary to operate and improve the App and provide the features you use (for example: saving your recipes, showing your posts to your connected Folks, and displaying your username/profile photo next to your content).

4.3 Sharing is your choice

Some features allow you to share content with other users (for example, sharing a recipe with selected Folks). You understand that when you share content, those recipients may be able to view it as long as it remains shared. Please share thoughtfully.

4.4 You’re responsible for what you post

You agree not to upload or post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or abusive
  • Infringes someone else’s rights (including intellectual property rights)
  • Contains malware or attempts to disrupt the App
  • Includes someone else’s personal information without permission

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful purposes
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the App or related systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except where allowed by law)
  • Attempt to access another user’s account or data without permission
  • Abuse sharing or invitation features (spam, repeated unsolicited invites, etc.)

6. AI-Assisted Features

The App may offer optional AI-powered features that help you create recipe drafts from photos (OCR) or audio recordings (voice-to-draft). These features are provided for convenience only and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected results.

When you use AI-assisted features, images or audio you submit may be transmitted securely to third-party AI service providers (including OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating your requested recipe draft. Audio recordings are processed temporarily and are not stored by us after processing is complete.

You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and confirming any AI-generated recipe draft before saving or sharing it. You agree that you will not rely on AI-generated output as a substitute for your own judgment.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services to function, including cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, and AI-powered processing (such as OpenAI). Your use of the App may be subject to the terms of those third-party providers.

We are not responsible for outages, interruptions, or issues caused by third-party services that are outside of our reasonable control.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused the App, or created risk or legal exposure for us or other users.

You may stop using the App at any time. You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us at pete@doyouevenblog.com.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, McPherson Enterprises, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to use the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. When changes are significant, we may provide notice within the App or by updating the “Last Updated” date above.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
