Who This App Is For

Maw Maw's is intended for adults only.

  • Ingredients and instructions

  • Profile photos
  • Social connections ("Folks")
  • Recipe sharing permissions

This content is stored securely using Firebase Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage.

Social Features

Maw Maw's includes social features such as:

  • Connecting with other users ("Folks")
  • Sharing recipes with selected users
  • Posting updates and comments
  • Mentioning other users with @username

Information such as your username and profile photo may be visible to users you connect with or share content with.

Email Communications

We send transactional emails only, such as:

  • Invitations to connect
  • Recipe requests
  • Account-related messages

We do not send marketing emails.

AI-Assisted Features

Maw Maw's offers optional AI-powered features designed to help you capture recipes more easily, including:

  • Recipe OCR (photo → text → draft)
  • Voice-to-draft recipe capture (spoken recipes → text)

When you use these features:

  • Images or audio you submit are transmitted securely to third-party AI service providers (including OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating your requested recipe draft
  • Audio recordings are processed temporarily for transcription and formatting
  • We do not store audio recordings after processing is complete
  • The resulting text draft is saved only if you choose to keep it
  • Data submitted for AI processing is not used by us or our providers for advertising or model training

What We Do NOT Collect

We do not:

  • Show ads
  • Sell personal data
  • Track users across apps or websites
  • Use third-party analytics
  • Use behavioral tracking or profiling

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Operate and improve the App
  • Enable recipe storage and sharing
  • Support social interactions
  • Deliver requested features
  • Maintain account security

Data Storage & Security

User account data and saved content are stored using secure, industry-standard services provided by Google Firebase.

Temporary data used for AI processing is handled via secure server-side functions and is not retained after processing.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing pete@doyouevenblog.com

Upon verification, we will permanently delete your account and related data within a reasonable timeframe.

Third-Party Service Providers

Maw Maw's relies on trusted third-party services to operate core functionality, including:

  • Google Firebase (authentication, database, and storage)
  • OpenAI (AI-powered transcription and recipe formatting)

These service providers process data only as necessary to perform their respective services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

  • You may limit who you connect with or share recipes with
  • You may request account deletion at any time
